    • Hi Lee,

Sorry to hear that but as it is apparently a gloobal block there is little I can do. Wikia have had problems recently with security issues, but perhaps you can try speaking to them through this page: Special:Blocked

Also, have you tried to log into your account, as it could just be that particular ip address that is blocked.

Sorry that I can't do any more. JPDurzel (talk) 17:12, December 12, 2015 (UTC)

  • Uploaded an updated formula e map, but I have not figured out how to replace the old one. Can you help? Is there a direct email address for you?

  • Dear JPDurzel,

I'm Alex and I’m currently finishing my masters in Multilingual Communication at the Free University of Brussels (ULB - Belgium).

I’m currently writing my master thesis on Formula E’s communicational strategy, about how such an innovative motor sport can take place in the actual environment and how the FIA and the several team promote this project.

Therefore, I would be really interested in asking you a few questions about the project, as you seem to be well aware of everything related to Formula E.

Is there anyway I could contact you in a more "private" way?

    Thank you for your consideration,

I hope to hear from you soon.

    Alex

    • Hi Alex,

I'll be honest and say that I simply read the FIA Press Releases from the Formula E website, although there are other sources around the internet. I recommend reading those if you can. If you want to ask me questions, you can use the chat system here on the wiki. Just give me a time you can be on there and i'll try to be on there (i'm not sure if you'll need a Wikia account but they're free and take no time to make).

I look forward to hearing from you if you choose to use chat.

  • Would Nextev TCR still be called China Racing as the Wikipedia page hasn't changed the name.

  • Just to let you know what I've been doing with the results templates: Charles Pic driving for two different teams this season has really screwed with my system, so I've had to create a workaround. In the results templates, "1Charles Pic" refers to him at Andretti and "2Charles Pic" is him at China Racing. Then there is an entry of just "Charles Pic" which is for his driver profile. If he drives for China Racing in Monaco and beyond, the race results and points totals need to be updated for both "Charles Pic" and "2Charles Pic" as separate entries (you'll see what I mean at Template:Career Results/2015 Long Beach ePrix and Template:Career Results/Points/2014. These complications will go away at end of season when I substitute the templates into the page, but are necessary for now. I will be here to update after the Monaco round, but not Germany and Russia as I have exams in both of those weeks and may be too busy. Finally, please could you either delete these Candidates for deletion or promote me to admin so I can do so?

    Thanks

    • Just given admin rights and no worries with the Pic thing (I was just thinking of asking you about that anyway). And as for the other rounds don't worry (I think i've got exams around that time too, possibly. Should probably check).

Anyway, thanks for the help and enjoy your new power (I will delegate as much work as possible to you)

    • Thanks. The Pic issue was one that was brought up when I first created the Career Results templates on F1 Wiki, but so far has not been needed (no driver has switched teams mid-season in that time). I'm glad to have had the chance to test it out here, as it took some tweaking. I will attempt to do some work here when I have the chance, but my time is limited due to my uni commitments (the exams in June are my finals). It's good that the F-E wiki was started in the first season as it means we are up-to-date. The F1 Wiki has 800 Grands Prix to catch up on!

    • By all means experiment with templates and things on here, it suits the very style of Formula E itself. And believe me, I feel the uni and wiki pains (there must be about 1,000 pages to be done for the BTCC wiki, let alone this season).

  • http://formula-e.wikia.com/wiki/2014/15_Season Points total should be 16, not 14. (6+6+2+2)

  • Hi JPDurzel, please can you block the IP editor who just vandalised the 2014/15 season article?  I have just blocked him on F1 Wiki and I assume he followed the affiliation link here.  If you need help with this, I can do it for you but not without admin tools.  Thanks

  • Hi JPDurzel, just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I'm Marc, an admin at F1 Wiki (as well as GP2, GP3 and A1 GP wikis). I wanted to offer a helping hand with this wiki as it is closely associated with the other main forms of motorsport and, after watching the race on Saturday, became an immediate fan. Randomg (who has been making some edits here) is also an F1 Wiki administrator. Firstly, I have started to transfer some of F1 Wiki's templates over (results grid, for example) and would like to continue doing so if possible. These templates have massively simplified results entering and I think they would certainly help here. I have lifted them straight over though, so let me know if the colour scheme isn't to your liking (or if you don't like the idea in the first place) and I can easily change it. In the near future, I would like to add the formula-e wiki to the F1 Wiki's affiliates so we can hopefully direct some traffic in this direction. If there is anything specific you would like me to do here, please let me know. My main specialities are infobox and template design, skin design and statistics, although I have been known to write a few pages from scratch in my time too.

    Thanks for your time

    • Welcome,

It's great to have someone else on here (i started the wiki three months ago, but haven't had much time to improve it since), and I have seen your impact on the F1 wiki, so I have little doubt that youy can improve things here. Any of the F1 templates should work well here, although I would ask that they are modified to this wiki's theme colours (#88F2CC, #1CA8CB, white and #214B9B). Otherwise enjoy yourself, and feel free to add what you think is needed. I mainly work on content, so if you want or need admin rights to aid your template or other activites let me know.

And lets hope the rest of the season is as thrilling as that race as well.

    • Thanks for the speedy response. I've made some styling changes to the results grid but have had to use some light grey shades as well as the hex codes above. I'll make a start on the teams one soon. As for admin rights, they are not required for the template coding I intend to do but may come in handy for things like the wiki navigation bar and the welcome messages (which will need to be rewritten if and when the wiki moves for a spotlight, which I strongly recommend further down the line). I am an experienced admin on other wikis, but I will leave it to your discretion as to whether or not you want to grant them.

I'll briefly explain how to use the new templates in case you don't already know:

Once a race is finished, we enter the results on the relevant race template: for example, Template:Career Results/2014 Beijing ePrix (there is one for each race). Then update the points, positions and team positions on Template:Career Results/Points/2014, Template:Career Results/Position/2014 and Template:Career Results/Team Position/2014. This will automatically update all of the results templates throughout the wiki without having to edit each and every one (more of these to follow). If a new driver joins a team, add them to Template:Team Drivers/2014. The drivers' names are automatically abbreviated to just their last name. If you want something different displayed (e.g. di Grassi or da Costa), enter the alternative to Template:Drivershort above the default line. Finally, when entering results for Jérôme d'Ambrosio, his name must be spelt dAmbrosio (without the apostrophe) as the parser function cannot handle apostrophes. All the appropriate redirects are in place to handle this.

Hope that is not too much info for you, and I look forward to working with you.

    • Excellent,

I had no idea that you could do that, let alone be able to do it, so thank you for working on that. As I say, I will leave you to deal with the templates as you know what you're doing, but do ask if you need a hand.
